Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company has an Account Representative Position open for the New Orleans, LA area. The Refinery Account Representative will develop and maintain customer relationships through service at existing refining account(s). Sells products and services to existing or new customers. Monitors and maintains existing programs. Communicates and issues reports to customers describing performance of applications. Visits customers with sales and engineering representatives to deliver technical presentations. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity. Handles special projects as assigned .

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support existing applications and services

  • Monitor application performance in existing accounts

  • Report KPI performance to meet contractual agreements

  • Develop solutions to resolve customer issues/improve customer reliability/profitability

  • Provide technical support to customer(s)

  • Learn BHGE product and services technologies

  • Interfaces across the internal organization

  • Builds strong relationships with key customers through value-selling and entertainment.

  • Increase revenue though new business development

  • Develop customer relationship


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  • 4 years industrial experience

  • Proven sales track record

  • Knowledge of Refining and or Petro Chemical processes

  • Ability to work independently to troubleshoot and solve problems

  • Good communication skills and an aptitude for relationship building

  • Ability to work within a multi-functional team

  • Solid mechanical aptitude

  • Proficient with the following computer software: Excel, Word, Power Point

  • Strong at building personal relationships (with internal and external customers).

  • Must have a TWIC or able to obtain one

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with crude unit (desalting & corrosion control) process chemical treatment experience within a refinery or in a refinery engineering position.

  • Project Management experience

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office, Visio, Process Simulation software

  • ASPEN modeling or equivalent experience
