Baker Hughes is looking for a Data Scientist for Drilling Services in Celle, Germany. Baker Hughes offers opportunities for qualified people who want to grow in our high performance organization. Data Scientist will be part of an international data science team on reliability improvement or cost saving projects, typically involves large, structured, unstructured, numerical, binary, text & complex data sets.
Potential application area include high-speed time series, historic summary reports, inspection, and maintenance & operations data.
Build, validate and update predictive models with confidence bounds to address customer needs.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and summarize large data sets with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ensures models/reports/results are optimized to satisfy the system performance, reliability and conform to BHGE standards and quality.
Identify data gaps and work with concerned groups toward filling the data gaps.
Write reports to summarize an investigation/results, identify trends and patterns, lessons learned and present findings.
Plans and conducts work with limited supervision.
Identify potential areas for improvement in legacy systems and communicate to project team.
Master's Degree in Engineering/Statistics
Proficiency with Excel/VBA/MATLAB/JAVA
Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis
Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (hypothesis testing, statistical test, sensitivity analysis, maximum likelihood principal, confidence bounds)
Knowledge of optimization algorithms and machine learning
Experienced with Reliasoft/Weibull analysis
Good verbal and written communication skills
Must be action oriented, ethical in value, and customer focused with a drive for results
Must be willing to travel 20%
PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) major.
Demonstrated proficiency in one or more data analytics tools and languages (MATLAB, VBA, Python, R)
Demonstrated proficiency in data cleaning, outlier analyses, sensitivity analysis, model building and model validation techniques
Demonstrated proficiency in automation of large data processing
