The Drilling Services group is looking for a Development Engineer – Signal Processing and Control to join our team. As a Development Engineer for Signal Processing and Control you are working in a project team within our product development department. You are responsible for the model based development of algorithmic and mechatronic systems and functions. Your field of responsibility covers the test of systems and modules in simulation as well as with HIL test setups, laboratory and field test.
This will be a unique opportunity to join a cross discipline team working with state of the art technologies in the energy industry. Our projects are executed in collaboration with academia, government, and corporate partners.
This hands on position involves full exposure to design, development, testing, and deployment of new components and complete systems for harsh environment operations. Above-average university degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar (FH, University, TU).
Knowledge in digital signal processing.
Knowledge in measurement and control systems.
Experience in modelling and simulation.
Skilled with Matlab / Simulink.
Programming Skills e.g. C, C .
Self-contained, self-motivated and structured to work within a worldwide functioning interdisciplinary team.
Good written and verbal English skills, due to working in an international working environment and strong interest in working with other cultures.
Development of functions for data acquisition and digital signal processing.
Design and dimensioning of state observers and closed-loop control algorithms.
Modelling and simulation of mechatronic systems.
Design of systems- und software architecture.
Testing of functions and systems in simulation and with HIL test-setups
Specification of requirements.
Complete documentation and change management processes for new product development
Practical experience in the above mentioned area of expertise and in development of algorithms and functions gathered during internships, thesis and/or professional experience.
Experience in system- and software design.
Knowledge in the field of test systems, -methods and –tools.
Knowledge in development processes and standards (Software development process, V-model, ISO26262 etc.).
Practical experience in HIL testing.
Basic knowledge in power electronics and drive control.
Experience with the development of embedded systems.
Basic experience with automatic code generation.
Demonstrated strong ability to develop within a technical mentoring
environment as well as to work independently
