Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a HSE Performance Assurance Lead in Houston, TX reporting into the Chief HSE Officer.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads the efforts to measure that regulatory, customer and organization standards related to HSE are consistently met

  • Detect deviation from standards through robust and systematic methods of analysis and measurement.

  • Is the guardian of company’s HSE performance assurance as a whole and holds the organization accountable.

  • Uses internal and external data to identify deviations, trends, opportunities for change and relentlessly drives the change in the organization.

  • Provide strategic direction and is accountable for the execution of the strategy related to – including but not limited to - HSE Audits, HSE Compliance, HSE Data measurement.

  • Operationalizes High Performing Teams, Generative Thinking, Industry Leading Methodologies and Outcome-based Accountability.

  • People Leader responsibilities include: team and individual development


  • Bachelor’s degree required in environment, health or safety, human resource management, engineering or organizational psychology.

  • 10 years of relevant HSE experience, including 5 years in management

  • Minimum 3 yrs Oil & Gas Industry experience. Other relevant experience considered.

  • Houston-based or willing to relocate, available for global travel.

  • Demonstrated ability in advising and collaborating with full range of workforce, from front line to executives; including recognizing how they think/process and work/execute.

  • Creative and courageous with a keen ability to gain support and engage participation from all levels of the organization.

  • Willing to step out and challenge the status-quo; easily makes connections among previously unrelated concepts.
