Role Summary:

This position is responsible for planning/re-planning wells, in accordance with BHGE policies. Additional responsibilities include generating 3D plots and validating surveys on current wells, under limited supervision. This position is a critical foundation for BHGE contracts.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Under limited supervision, plan or re-plan wells as required.

  • Prepare initial planning for direction and horizontal wells.

  • Prepare anti-collision analysis using ellipses and tool errors model.

  • Input, calculate and validate surveys on a daily basis.

  • Generate a plan view and graphical presentation of the directional profile.

  • Support field personnel when required.

  • Complete end of month activity logs and end of well reports - actual versus proposed.

  • Conduct all business activities in accordance with BHGE HSE policies, Legal Compliance requirements and BHGE Core Values.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree required

  • Must have 1 years of related experience in well planning.

  • Experience with well planning software (Compass, WellArchitect, etc).

  • Proficient knowledge of product line and proper application of tools.

  • Proficient in use of computer based programs related to application of products.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

  • Thorough understanding of torque and drag, downhole hydraulics and rig operations.

  • Proficient use of computer based programs related to application of products.

  • Knowledge of directional and horizontal drilling, wellbore positioning basics.

  • Experience with BHA modeling and design.

  • Strong mathematical, problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Good communication skills – both verbal and written.
