Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a Lower Completions Inflow Control Devices (ICDs/AICDs) Product Manager to be based at our Center of Technology Innovation (CTI) facility in Houston, TX. This role will report into the Lower Completions Inflow Control Devices Product Line Manager.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • The candidate is expected to set in place product management and sustenance strategies for advancing the product portfolio and gearing it towards the market needs globally.

  • This will involve consistent customer engagement, attendance of industry functions, and developing a deep familiarity with current horizontal completion practices in varying oil/gas reservoirs in which Inflow control for production enhancement is needed.

  • The candidate will be required to develop a strong relationship with employees in different functions such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain and Sourcing, and Marketing Services.

  • Ability to assess market competition to ensure BHGE is the clear leader in Lower Completion Inflow Control Technologies.

  • Ability to assess different markets and implement different business strategies depending on the market situation. This will require the candidate to work closely with operations and sales teams to evaluate what is best for the local market and overall industry conditions.

  • The candidate will require a high level of technical acumen around completions engineering, specifically Lower Completions and Sand Control (Screens, Gravel/Frac Pack Tools, and Pumping)

  • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.

  • The candidate is expected to carry out financial analysis on KPIs such as return-on-investment, payback periods, revenue forecasts, and general time value analysis. This will require the candidate to engage heavily with operations globally to understand current and future customer field and well development plans.

  • The role will require the candidate to constantly review production and sales costs; forecast anticipated sales and volume to communicate to varying functions within the organization including Supply Chain and manufacturing.

  • Maintains product management staff by training and recruiting employees to further advance BHGE Completions position globally.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.


  • B.S. in Engineering discipline – Petroleum and/or Mechanical Preferred

  • 8 years of Petroleum Engineering experience

  • Ability to understand fundamental Petroleum Engineering principles

  • Ability to work with industry available reservoir simulators including Petroleum Experts’ Reveal, ECLIPSE, CMG STARS and Flexwell

  • Familiarity with Near Wellbore Inflow Simulators (i.e. Landmark’s NETool)

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to:

  • Microsoft Excel

  • Microsoft Word

  • Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Microsoft Access

  • Business travel required for about 30-50% of the time

Desired Characteristics:

  • Masters of Business Administration Degree a Plus

  • Experience with Inflow (ICDs/AICDs) Control Devices a Plus

  • Proficiency in certain programming languages a plus (i.e. Visual Basic Programming, C Sharp)

  • Ability to analyze data and manage data from different sources to enable speedy analysis and assessment of market trends is a plus.
