Role Summary:

BHGE Remote Operations Managed Services (ROMS) division is hiring a full time position in its ROMS Systems Operations Management group. The Application Support Engineer is a technical position that support BHGE real-time remote operation applications for the different Oilfield disciplines.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Level 2 Technical Support across data centers

  • Configuration management and documentation

  • Deploy application upgrades/patches in production and test environments

  • Capacity planning, system performance monitoring, resource utilization trending

  • Actively participate in incident and problem management

  • Co-ordinate with BHGE IT Infrastructure Group for Database, Server Support and Development Teams to resolve complex technical escalations

  • Co-ordinate with BHGE IT Enterprise Applications Group for Enterprise Portal, Messaging and Content Teams to resolve complex technical escalations

  • Perform Root cause Analysis (RCA)


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, or IT

  • 5 years of experience in data center and application support.

  • Experience with WebLogic or similar application server technology administration

  • Extensive experience with Linux, Windows

  • Experience in RDBMS and NoSQL database technologies

  • Troubleshooting skills and in-depth knowledge of multi-site, mixed-technology enterprise environments

  • Understanding of network infrastructure including switching, routing, Ethernet, TCP/IP

  • Experience in application monitoring and production support

  • Experience in DevOps, CICD processes and technologies

  • Experience in AWS, Azure or other cloud platforms

  • Application Deployment and implementations experience

  • Change management and Incident management process

  • Good communication skills

  • Must be committed to customer service and ability to work in team-oriented environment

  • Must be self-motivated and a team player

Desired Characteristics:

  • 2 years of experience in Real Time Applications

  • Apache Cassandra or similar NoSQL database technologies

  • Experience in implementing CICD technologies

  • Apache Tomcat or similar application server experience is good to have

  • Knowledge of VMware and other virtualization platforms

  • Global support experience
