Baker Hughes, a GE company, has an opening for a Trade Compliance Classification Analyst in Houston, TX, or other geographic locations, focusing on import and export classification activity for oil and gas equipment. Under direct supervision of a senior member of the BHGE International Trade Compliance Team, the Trade Compliance Classification Analyst will interface with various product lines to obtain technical product information and apply the information in order to assign accurate classifications using the HTS and CCL. Additionally, the Trade Compliance Classification Analyst will be required to provide assistance with special project, administrative duties, metric reporting and must collaborate with internal logistics, manufacturing, engineering, purchasing and finance to acquire product information, as needed.
Conduct product evaluation to determine HTS and CCL Classification
Review, interpret and apply technical data accurately to tasks as assigned
Assist in the development of trade compliance policies and procedures, conduct training and audits, to ensure import/export compliance policies and procedures are followed
Report accurate metrics
Some administrative tasks, as requested
Assist with special projects, as requested
Collaborate with other team members and internal clients
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
2 years of experience in import and export logistics
Experience in product classification using the HTS and CCL
Experience managing data using MS Excel spreadsheets
Experience with SAP, Oracle or other ERPs
Experience in Oil and Gas Industry and/or Chemical and Allied Industries
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Highly organized with quantitative and analytical attention to detail
Track record of collaborative work - able to build relationships
Knowledge of import/export trade regulations, Tariff schedule, International Incoterms, Free Trade Agreements, and Import/Export compliance programs
