Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a Welder – Welding Department for 2 nd Shift to support Completions and Wellbore Intervention at our Emmott Road facility in Houston, TX. This welder will work under direct supervision, performs simple, basic welding applications. Understands how to perform visual and in-process inspections in accordance with API and ISO quality specifications. Develops skill to read and interpret blueprints. Helps facilitate the team in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving welding problems that enhance through-put within the work team. Supports the team and team's objectives. Learns skills to pass periodic welding tests and qualifications in compliance with qualification procedures and performs job in a manner that Safety is a top priority.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Safely load, unload and operate heat treating and hardness testing equipment.

  • Inspect parts to determine dimension and tolerances of finish work pieces.

  • Complete Forklift Licensing course and operate forklift as needed.

  • Reads and interprets safety rules, drawings, procedure manuals and operating instructions.

  • Handle special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school Diploma or GED

  • 1 years of experience with Heat Treat, Furnace Operation, and/or Welding

  • Ability to apply basic math for temperature calculations.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Must be able to work 2 nd Shift – Monday through Friday from 2pm – 10 pm

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Previous furnace operation.

  • Previous forklift experience.
