Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for an ESP Reliability Engineer (Artificial Lift) to be based in Midland, TX. We are looking for a team player who will take the initiative, based on her or his experience and education, to help our customers increase ESP run lives and production.
Gather necessary information required for a Root Cause Failure Investigation: Pre-failure operational information, equipment run times, bench tests, etc.
Prepare preliminary Root Cause Failure Reports with information cited above before the dismantle.
Perform detailed dismantle inspections of failed submersible pumping systems (pumps, motors, seal, cable, and ancillary equipment) for all Permian customers (West Texas and SE New Mexico).
Provide detailed dismantle descriptions and photographs.
Conduct thorough Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA). Information most often will include, but is not limited to pre-failure operational conditions, Pull Observations, and the Dismantle findings.
Apply the RCFA with the goal of increasing run lives and production for our customers. BHGE Permian uses a cross-functional team environment (Applications and Monitoring).
Provide a quality RCFA report, in the required format, including recommendations for increasing run life performance, within 5 business days.
Work with Reliability Team Members, the Reliability Manager, Sales and the Shop to schedule witnessed and non-witnessed dismantles.
Provide Reliability/Engineering Support to Account Managers, Operations Management and the Customer. Support the Account Managers on Customer Review meetings.
Interact with Reliability Management and provide specific feedback on all Product and Service Impact Failures (PSDI).
Take part, and where needed, take lead in Internal Reviews for PSDI failures.
Identifies areas of improvement through the analysis of warranty issues, internal audits, and customer complaints.
Maintain the company’s Product reliability management database by keeping all pertinent information, categorized by BHGE’s failure classification system, up to date. Within the database, follow the DMAIC process for continuous process improvement of run life and performance of ESP equipment.
Establish and implement preventative and corrective actions for your area of responsibility.
Stay current on all training for BHGE’s compliance, financial, and HSE requirements.
Handle special projects, as assigned.
Communicate directly with team members to share learnings both within the Permian region and outside to other BHGE operations.
Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical, or other related degree.
Strong technical writing skills.
Ability to communicate in a professional business manner.
U.S. Citizenship, Residency, or U.S. Work Visa enabling employment for at least 3 years.
Customer communication skills.
Experience with the ESP assembly process, Field Service activities, and ESP design applications (sizing, monitoring).
Basic understanding of the Oil & Gas Upstream Industry.
Six Sigma process improvement training or understanding.
An understanding of the Failure Mode and Effect evaluation system (FEMA).
