Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plansand conducts research and development of standard engineering assignments.Assignments can be a significant portion of a larger project.

  • Developsand implements new production methods.

  • Recommendsand implements improvements in the production process.

  • Selectsengineering techniques to solve problems and makes sound recommendations.Assesses results for applicability, validity and conformance tospecifications.

  • Maybe the lead engineer on smaller project with some functional supervision.

  • Usuallyworks with minimum supervision, conferring with superior on unusualmatters.

  • Maybe assisted by entry or junior level personnel.

  • Assistsin project planning and review.

  • Assignmentsare broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity.

  • Assignmentsare reviewed for overall soundness and adherence to stated objectives.

  • Handlesspecial projects, as assigned.


  • Bachelor'sDegree in Chemical Engineering with 20 years’ of chemical plantexperience

  • 10years of experience managing chemical plant processes

  • Experiencewith multiple chemical plant processes

  • Razorsharp process analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ableto analyse data and draw actionable conclusions

  • Fluentin SPC theory and techniques

  • Excellentverbal and written communication skills.

  • Capableof managing and leading projects as assigned

  • Soundworking knowledge of principles, concepts, theories, and/or practices ofchemical engineering & chemical plant processes.

  • Providestechnical services and operating support for plant special needs such asunit start-ups.

  • Familiarwith OSHA 1910.119 PSM regulations & requirements

  • UnderstandsMOC’s and PHA’s and can facilitate as needed

  • Abilityto travel internationally

Desired Characteristics:

• Experience with manufacturing production chemicals for the oil & gas market

• Certification in lean and/or six sigma
