Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company is currently hiring an HSE Project Lifecycle Lead based in The Woodlands, Texas.

The HSE Project Lifecycle Lead is responsible for managing the HSE transition from the project opportunity, execution through de-mobilization. Will be accountable for the creation and delivery of disciplined HSE project lifecycle planning. Also responsible for assuring risk management plans are in place and remain effective to manage project HSE risks.

The HSE Project Lifecycle Lead position will broaden the candidate’s experience in global oil and gas operations, BHGE business planning, and HSE’s strategic partner role across the business. Excellence in this position will prepare the candidate for senior leadership HSE positions and, specific operations positions.

Essential Responsibilities:

Accountable for delivery of HSE related aspects of the project during the lifecycle of the project:

Evaluation Stages

  • Supports Review of bids/contracts

  • Provides costing for proposals (HSE resources, permitting, monitoring, etc.)

  • Determines contractor qualification criteria based upon SOW

  • Supports in-depth Due Diligence as needed (site visits)

Design, Commissioning & Startup

  • Responsible of Project HSE Resourcing

  • Accountable for transitioning operational risk controls into design and planning stages

  • Accountable for Contractor selection/approval

  • Accountable for Project HSE Plans and Risk Mgmt Programs and HSE Readiness for mobilization and startup

  • Leads OE Focus throughout project lifecycle

Operations

  • Maintains HSE oversite for project

  • Participates in update meetings, investigations

  • Provides IFO SME support to Project HSE

  • Captures Lessons Learned from entire Lifecycle of project

Decommissioning / Divestiture

  • Responsible for decommissioning HSE Planning and execution activities

  • Participates in Vendor Due Diligence activities for Divestiture including contract and schedule reviews

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HSE, Engineering, Sciences, or related technical discipline

  • 10 years of HSE experience in Oil & Gas Industry (operator or drilling contractor and risk management)

  • 5 years of management experience

  • HSE Project Management Experience.

  • Proficient at managing multiple projects and provides clear direction, disciplined timelines and coordinated schedules.

  • Proficient in HAZOPS and HAZID Assessments, Project Risk Assessments and development of Risk Management Plans

  • Knowledgeable in Process Safety, barrier management and well control practices

  • Knowledgeable of business impacts / technical constraints to ensure business goals are met or exceeded

  • Required travel up to 50% possible both domestically and internationally

  • Proficient in Microsoft Project or other Project Management Software

Desired Characteristics:

  • PMP or related certification preferred
