Role Summary:

The Drill Bits Manufacturing Procurement group has an immediate opening for an experienced Procurement professional for the role of Procurement Coordinator.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • With minimal oversight, supervises procurement staff to develop and implement best practices ensuring operational excellence

  • Oversees the mining and analysis of data in support of buyers and management

  • Independently prepares presentations

  • Participates on team negotiations with suppliers

  • Implements improvements to procurement policies

  • Monitors BHI and supplier compliance and performance against established contracts and processes

  • Fosters active daily use of continuous improvement tools to improve HS&E, quality, delivery, financial performance, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction

  • Handles special projects as assigned, which will be broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity

  • Conducts all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes health, safety and environmental policies, legal compliance requirements and Baker Hughes core values


  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5 years of procurement, sourcing, or similar experience within supply chain, including 1 years’ of experience in a lead role with demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Exceptional analytical, project management, negotiation, facilitation, and customer service skill

  • Applies stand-alone knowledge of purchasing practices, principles, and procedures

  • Drives cost reduction initiatives across the procurement organization and root cause corrective action plans to improve quality

  • Detailed knowledge of sourced goods and services, suppliers, and market trends

  • Excellent ability to communicate with internal & external customers and suppliers

  • Energetic self-starter with excellent communication, organization, problem solving, and planning skills

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel

  • SAP knowledge and experience

Desired Characteristics:

  • Manufacturing procurement experience a plus

  • Order Management experience a plus
